Lamb Burgers 

Heaps of us love a good burger and I wanted to show people how easy it is to make them at home. I also wanted to make something different from the normal as everyone makes chicken and beef, so I thought why not lamb. These burgers are a great way to disguise vegetables for kids that are fussy about eating them as the patties are full of them. They are a great family meal for all to enjoy.


Prepare all the vegetables and add to a mixing bowl.

Add the Mince and mix to combine. Add the egg and mix well to combine.

Form into patties and place on a lined plate.

Pan fry patties for about 5 minutes each side or until cooked through.

Assemble the burgers with whatever toppings you like. I have put my toppings and sauces below.

Lamb Burgers

For Patties:

750g lamb Mince

1 onion, diced

1 Carrot, grated

¼ cup finely chopped cauliflower

¼ cup finely chopped broccoli

¼ capsicum, diced

2 flat mushrooms, diced

¼ cup finely chopped parsley

½ zucchini, grated

1 egg

1 ½ tsp salt

1 tsp ground pepper

Prepare all the vegetables and add to a large mixing bowl.

Add the Mince and using your hands, mixing well to combine.

Add in the egg and mix to combine.

Take a palm full of mixture and shape into patties, about 3cm thick. Repeat with remaining mixture and place patties on a lined plate until ready to cook.

Heat 2 frying pans over a medium-high heat with 2 tbsp olive oil.

Add patties evenly between the pans and pan fry for about 5 minutes each side.

For burgers: (Add whatever you like to your burgers this is what I put on mine)

8 burger buns

Caramelised onions and mushrooms

Bacon

Sliced tinned beetroot

Sliced or fried tomatoes

Cos lettuce

Honey mustard

Mint jelly

Split the buns and toast in the oven or toaster. Butter them lightly and spread on some mint jelly.

Add onions, mushrooms and slices of bacon . Top with the patties. Add some lettuce leaves, beetroot and tomato.

Finish with a drizzle of honey mustard and top with the top buns.

Serve.
