Now I know what you are thinking, that sounds weird but they taste delicious and make a great party snack that has all the flavours of a big mac in a tiny bite. Please have an open mind and give them a try and I’m sure they will become favourite little snack.
First cook the Mince and onion in a frying pan until browned and the mince is just cooked. Place in a mixing bowl to cool.
Add remaining ingredients to the Mince and mix to combine.
Cut spring roll wrappers into quarters and lay out on a clean bench.
Add a small spoonful of the mince mixture into the middle of each quarter.
Carefully fold the quarters in half diagonally and seal the edges with a little bit of water. Remove as much air from around the filling by squeezing as much out as possible.
Heat oil to 180c. Fry wontons in batches until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and season with salt.
While wontons are frying, add all the sauce ingredients in a bowl and mix well to combine.
“ Big Mac” Wontons
Filling:
2 tbsp Olive oil
200g lean beef Mince
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp dijon Mustard
3 tbsp grated mozzarella cheese
¼ cup shredded lettuce
3 cornichons, diced
I shallot, diced
2 tsp sesame seeds
5 spring roll wrappers
Combine the Mince, salt, pepper and shallot in a bowl. Heat a frying pan over a medium-high heat with the oil .
Add the mince mixture to the pan and brown the mince. Keep cooking the mince until cooked through and quickly remove from the heat and set aside in a bowl to cool .
Once cooled add the remaining ingredients and mix well to combine .
Lay wrappers out on a clean bench and cut each one into quarters.
Add a small spoonful of mixture to the middle of each quarter and then fold in half diagonally while sealing the edges with water and making sure to press around the filling to remove as much air as possible.
Heat oil in a deep fryer or saucepan to 180c .
Fry wontons in batches for 2 minutes or Until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels and season with salt.
Big Mac Sauce:
½ cup Mayonnaise
2 tsp french dressing
4 tsp gherkin relish
2 tsp sugar
Salt to taste
2 tsp paprika
Combine all the ingredients In a bowl and mix well.
Cover with plastic Wrap and chill in the fridge overnight.
Serve as a dipping sauce to the wontons.
